Maths is taught through a spiral curriculum approach based on 12 Key Concepts which are logically sequenced, moving up the grade ladder every year.

The department focuses on reasoning to develop depth of understanding, and practises this to develop fluency. Once mastering the concept (the 'what') students then apply this to problem solving scenarios (the 'how').

The department differentiates the learning in the maths sets to ensure that students receive the correct level of challenge so that progress can be maximised.

The department’s ultimate goal is to have ensure that everyone in the classroom is kind, and enjoying achieving their best.
