Full Governors’ Meetings:

Comprises all elected, nominated and co-opted governors including the Headteacher, Deputy and Assistant Headteachers.  Meets formally each month with extraordinary meetings as necessary. 

The full governing body discusses, considers and decides upon all those issues associated with the successful running of the college, receiving reports from key members of staff and from the Headteacher in her termly report.  The meeting is chaired by the Chair of Governors and formal minutes held centrally by the Clerk to Governors.  Some staff may be invited to attend for a particular agenda item or to make presentations to the full governing body.

First Personnel (Pay and Conditions) Committee

No less than 3 governors, including the Chairman of Governors (not involved in Second Committee); Headteacher as advisor and/or independent advisers as necessary plus Clerk to the Governing Body as required.

The committee considers specific issues relating to personnel, pay and conditions.  The committee is chaired by the Chair of Governors.  Formal (confidential) minutes are produced and held centrally by the Clerk to Governors.

Second Personnel (Appeals) Committee

No less than 3 Governors, including the Vice Chairman of governors (not involved in First Committee).  Headteacher as advisor and/or independent advisers as necessary.  Clerk to the Governing Body, as required.

This Committee considers appeals against the decision(s) of the First Committee.  The committee is chaired by the Vice Chair of Governors.  Formal (Confidential) minutes are produced and held centrally by the Clerk to the Governors.

Governors’ Disciplinary Committee

At least 3 governors – usually not those on the first Personnel Committee, the Headteacher, other members of staff as required.

The Committee considers appeals against a Headteacher’s decision to exclude, or to deal with other student disciplinary matters, as necessary.

Headteacher’s Performance Management

The Committee comprises, Mrs Frost (Chair), Mrs Drackford, Mr Fitter and Mr Walkey.  The Committee meets with the School Improvement Partner by request and also to consider the annual formal report given by the School Improvement Partner in person.  This committee reports directly to the full governing body.
