College Uniform
The governors believe that college uniform is a clear indicator of many of the standards which the college seeks to encourage in its youngsters.
Furthermore they acknowledge the view, supported by many parents, that a uniform prevents competition over high-fashion clothing and makes differences in parental income less obtrusive. Every student in the main college (KS3 or KS4) at Treviglas is expected to wear the full college uniform which is deliberately kept as simple and reasonably priced as possible. Students attending our Post-16 (Sixth Form) Centre are expected to dress in appropriate clothing of their own choice.
The governors appreciate that young people need to express their individual tastes and styles but do not feel that college is an appropriate place for extremes of fashion, whether in clothing, shoes, hairstyles, jewellery, make-up or general appearance. Consequently youngsters who do not adhere to the college policy on uniform will be spoken to by staff and, unless there is a genuine problem substantiated in writing by a parent, will be required to make the necessary amendments to their dress or appearance.
The governors expect this policy to be actively upheld by students, parents and all members of staff.
A price list is available from the college office on request and all uniform can be purchased from Studs Sport Shop in Newquay.
