On Tuesday 17th January, 30 primary school students attended Treviglas for a creative writing masterclass. Using Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky and characters from the exciting forthcoming college production of Seussical as inspiration, the students created their own fictional character and produced a piece of descriptive writing or poem. The work produced was fantastic and each student used sophisticated and creative vocabulary to portray their creature.
Beth chose to produce of descriptive writing about her creature:
A blood curdling roar thundered through the forest, sending all the animals into panic. Plodding clumsily on dishevelled feet, the grotesque monster tore through the trees. Its breath reeked like a sewer and it had glistening green skin.
It was a heavily loaded truck with flabby skin. It slumped around and snatched a podgy does out of the undergrowth. The repulsive creature ate her in two bites. Snap! Crunch!
Satisfied, he slouched back home to a musty cave. Slimy jade vines hung limp from the jagged ceiling.
