A Level Presentation Evening
Article Created on Thursday, 13 January 2011
On Wednesday, 5th January several of our outgoing year 13 students gathered with their proud parents, siblings and friends to receive recognition for their outstanding achievements in the A level examinations last summer. Most of these students have already completed their first term at university and there was a warm atmosphere of reunion and friendship at the Carnmarth Hotel, where the Presentation Evening took place.
Our current Head Students: Alice Norris, Millie Cardew, Jordanne Jolly and Fenn Woodfinden presented the evening and we were very grateful to Mrs. Helen Mathieson for attending the event and for presenting the awards to the students. The visit was a particularly poignant one for Helen, as the year group receiving awards were year 7 students when Helen began her role as Head teacher at Treviglas. She knows the students very well and the fact that Helen was able to make personal references about the achievement of each student only served to enhance the warmth and sincerity of the event.
Among the students receiving awards was Ben Farrell, who received the award for the best A level results. Ben achieved four As and one B at A level and is now studying Chemistry at Trinity College, Oxford. Other recipients of awards were Jodie Ward, Gina Mabon, Sam Joyce, Jess Howard, Mark Aston, Paul Anderson-Riley and Andrew Squance.
Our congratulations go to all our “Class of 2010” students along with our very good wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous future.
