Prospectus: Our Reputation

Treviglas is well respected in the local community and has a good reputation reinforced by two very successful Ofsted inspections.

College Governors

Our governors represent the whole college community including parents, pupils, staff and all gencies that contribute to the daily life of the college. Representatives are elected on behalf of parents and staff and there are appointees from Cornwall Education Committee; other co-opted members are included for their specific areas of expertise. The Governors are custodians of the college values in all areas such as:

Former Students

Treviglas Community College is proud of the achievements of its students past and present. They are successful in public examinations and competitive arenas including, national and regional sports, the UK Maths Challenge and Young Enterprise.

Ofsted Inspection

Treviglas underwent a successful Ofsted inspection in March 2006; Inspectors were highly complimentary about the wide ranging curriculum on offer at the college, which has received national attention and which they defined as "outstanding".

Leadership of the college was praised for its forward thinking and determined vision; inspectors were confident that all is in place to ensure the continuing raising of standards.  In 2006-2007 the college will focus on further improving consistency at Post 16 and, in the light of the work that has been done in this area over the last two years, we were delighted to receive excellent Post 16 results in August 2006 which were the best the college had ever recorded and which saw the college achieve a 98.8% pass rate.

Treviglas will also focus on staffing being fully in place in every faculty area and will start September 2006 in that fortunate position.  2006 has been a highly successful year for Treviglas and we look forward to building on this is 2007 and 2008
