French Trip July 2009

In July 2009, 46 Treviglas Community College students participated in the Modern Foreign languages trip to Northern France. Students represented year groups from year 7 to 10, including those who are not currently studying French as their language option.

Despite being only 4 days long we managed to pack in a whole host of activities. We started at midnight on Thursday with a pleasant 17 hour coach journey to our PGL chateau just outside Fougeres.

The students then had opportunities to be involved in a real life French market place and a visit to the historic Mont St Michel. They also looked round an authentic Sunday morning car boot sale before a trip to the outside swimming baths. Form there it was off for an afternoon of typical French sporting activities such as archery and abseiling back at the chateau.

The return journey home via the Channel Tunnel was preceded by a trip to the enormous Cite Eurpoe shopping centre before continuing the last few hundred miles back to Treviglas.

All back safe and sound, we had all taken part in a fantastic insight into French life, culture and sporting activities.

A huge "merci beaucoup" to Mrs Whelan for arranging the whole trip, and of course thank you to all of the students who were such a credit to themselves and the College throughout our time away.
