We seek to provide opportunities for students to obtain and apply mathematical knowledge, skills, understanding and strategies in a wide range of contexts.

General Aims:

1.  To develop, maintain and stimulate student's curiosity,
     interest and enjoyment of mathematics.
2.  To develop student's familiarity with appropriate
     mathematical concepts, principles, methods and
     vocabulary.
3.  To develop student's understanding of mathematics in its
widest context and to see how it relates to themselves
     outside college.
4.  To encourage students to develop personal qualities such
as politeness, perserverance, initiative, empathy, self
     confidence and independence.
5.  To provide opportunity for independent and group work for
     all students.
6.  To enable all students to have equal access to
mathematics and to experience success in their work.
7.  To allow students to develop transferable skills and
informed opinions about their mathematics and to be able
to support them by reasonable arguments.

In future, as the site develops, you will be able to use this page to receive news from the faculty, together with information about extra curricular and enrichment activities.

Using the menu to the right of the page, you can take a look at specific areas of the faculty. You will have the opportunity to view curricular and examination information, faculty handbook including all policies, schemes of learning and samples of students' work. You will also have the opportunity to view homework tasks, set according to year group.
