Key Stage 3

 Ms. Harries and her students

Over the past three weeks a Year 7 group from Treviglas College has been working with a Year 4 group from St Mawgan-in-Pydar primary school on a magazine entitled ‘Environment Matters’. It is a magazine written by young children and aims to both entertain and inform other young children about environmental issues. Articles range from quizzes and comic strips to global issues and recycling tips.

On Tuesday 15th May 12 St Mawgan students visited Treviglas College, and were hosted by 13 Year 7 Treviglas students. The two schools have been in correspondence via email over past weeks keeping each other up to date on the magazine’s progress. Tuesday saw the students come together to share work and add the finishing touches making use of some of Treviglas College’s latest ICT equipment. In mixed groups the students scoured the Treviglas site finding plenty of examples of good environmental practice to include in their magazine.
