eXtra@treviglas

From Wednesday 21st September to Monday 26th September 2011 students will be able to sign up for the autumn term 2011 eXtra@treviglas programme via the college moodle system. Students are welcome to access the system from the college site during ICT lessons or via the college website and should log into moodle where they will find an eXtra@treviglas news item. They should follow the instructions in this news item to enable them to make their choices. If they have difficulty accessing this system they can seek help from their ICT teacher, Form Tutor or the eXtra@treviglas team.

Following the closure of these choices on Monday 26th September 2011 we will print an individual letter and permission form for every student who opts to take part in eXtra. These letters will be issued to students on Tuesday 27th September 2011 and must be returned prior to the start of their activites. Students should post their returns in the eXtra post box which will be on display in the hall near first aid. No student is permitted to stay to any session without a permission form, therefore if your child wishes to participate in the programme they must complete their choices via moodle by Monday 26th September 2011 and return their form prior to starting an activity.

If a student attempts to stay without a signed permission form, parents will be contacted and asked to collect their child from the college. Likewise if a student fails to arrive for a session, parents will be notified. If you know that your child will be unable to attend please notify the eXtra team via e-mail – eXtra@treviglas.cornwall.sch.uk or call the college on 01637 872076.

Transport is provided free of charge at 4.10pm on a Monday and 4.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday to all students who are entitled to free college transport and who have a valid bus pass. Students opting to attend eXtra on Friday afternoons will be required to make a small contribution of £1 per week, which helps support the costs of the staff who supervise and/or deliver the activities. Students may be eligible to access Give it a Go! funding to support this. You may be able to access this funding if your child is in care, receiving free school meals, or where a parent/carer is in receipt of an NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate. Further details are available from Clare Thompson.
